When The Precepts Of Men Micro Manage The Flock Of God

Every church that I have ever attended had a prayer ministry. Prayer is one of the heart beats of the church. Prayer is important, and Jesus said "My House shall be called a house of prayer". There are many scriptures in the Bible that speak of prayer from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelations. There are many accounts of Christ praying, the Apostles praying, and also many accounts within the old testament about prayer.

 

Prayer in many ways is the lifeline of our communication with God. Through prayer we communicate with God, make our requests known to Him, enter into His presence and stand the gap as watchmen for others. It is good to pray for others. In fact, it is a humble privilege to pray for others.

 

In the book of Acts prayer and the laying on of hands are mentioned in various sections of scripture. In many church's today prayer and the laying on of hands is actively pursued and the ministry of the Holy Spirit flows freely.

 

Actually God made prayer very simple. It doesn't take some spiritual giant to pray for people. It just takes a willing vessel to step out in faith and allow the Holy Spirit to be the Holy Spirit. It's when fear, lack of faith, a religious spirit, the precepts of men and having a good church service show gets in the way and hinders the Holy Spirit, that prayer ministries become in affective. That well scripted situations.

 

It amazes me how we sometimes turn the Kingdom of God into this well micro managed process as if we could add something to it. It amazes me how we sometimes take the simplest of things and make them difficult and within that process diminish the power of such and the anointing of God among us. I somehow don't think Jesus had that in mind.

God Can Turn The Worst Of Situations Into Blessings

Very few people look towards God when things are going well. Truth is they are usually to busy and consumed to think about God. However, when times become difficult or troubles come, that's when we all seem to call out to God. Sometimes God takes the worst of situations and circumstances and turns them into blessings. We of course can't see this in the beginnings or as it's unfolding, but as time passes we do.

What Path Are We Being Led Down

The more and more I hear the news reports regarding world leaders, the more I wounder what path they are leading us all down. Even here in the United States, there are times when I wonder where are leaders are leading us. Thank God that we do have some leaders of integrity that truly care about the American people. Of course as leaders, they are merely men and men can and do make mistakes. Occasionally we hear of those mistakes, as powerful men find their careers coming to an end.

Yet where are our leaders leading us? Is America prospering as a nation and people? Are Americans better off today than they were 5 years ago, or 10 years ago? Are Americans more secure financially? or is America and the American people encountering the fruit of poor leadership?

It's time to pray that God puts Godly leaders, leaders of honor and leaders of integrity into office.

Home Made Chocolate Chip Cookies & Kids

Our daughter loves sweets, as do most children. My wife loves chocolate chip cookies and milk. Every once in a while the two of them make home made chocolate chip cookies which is a blast to see. You see, our five year old, well she has arrived. She has her mothers independence, her mother's I know it all attitude and to watch the two of them baking together is funny. As I'm writing this, I'm reminded of the Ginger Bread cookies with all the dressings that were as hard as cement after they came out of the oven. Thank God the chocolate chip cookies don't turn out that way. It's fun to spend quality time with the kids cooking cookies and then sitting around with them watching them dip them into milk.

Drinking, Driving & The Consequences

I can remember as a child my dad and uncles drinking beer while driving. The old brown paper bag days. Of course back them if you got pulled over, they basically made you dump it out and didn't hassle you as long as you were not drunk. Times have changed.

These days if you get caught with a open container, the consequences are severe. You can loose your drivers license, get your car impounded and get taken to the pokie. If your drunk, things get even worse. Then there's fines, increased auto insurance rates, the embarrasement of the ordeal, court and other situations. Bottom line, don't drink and drive.

Yet if you think about it, who would want to drink and drive? You place your life in danger, the lives of those in your car and other motorists in danger. It just makes no sense to risk so much. Please, don't drink and drive.

Do you like learning about things? They say that knowledge is powerful when applied properly. From experience over the many years of my life, I have found that my pursuit in learning about simple things like auto mechanics, writing, graphic designs and the Internet has helped me many times and saved me lots of money.

Just imagine if you picked a subject or topic and Googled it every day and read about it for one hour each day. One year later, you would have 356 hours of studies around that one topic. When Fear Grips One's Life

Fear can cripple a person and become a controlling factor in their life. Of course there is natural fear that we all occasionally encounter. However, when fear starts to become a controlling factor in one's life as a stronghold, there's something wrong.

There is a scripture that basically states "you have not been given a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind". Note the word spirit. You see sometimes overwhelming strongholds of fear are exactly that. A spirit. A evil, wicked and unclean spirit that has rooted deeply within a person. When this happens it requires deliverance to be set free of that spirit. It requires the help of God.

If you are finding your life being controlled by un natural fear, contact a local church and talk with someone. They can help you. They will be able to counsel you, give you scriptural advice, pray for you and God can use them to set you free.

When Things Start Becoming Difficult

Have you ever been there. Watching something unfold that was not suppose to happen. Sometimes our inability to listen and stubbornness brings forth the complete opposite of what God had planned. Dangerous Emotional Characteristics

Anger rages like a fire. It is destructive and can start major life fires. For the angry man or woman that daily deals with anger, frustrations gone wild and bitterness. These things wage war on their lives and the lives of others around them. Fires get started, fired that devour. When anger gets out of control and starts becoming deeply rooted it takes a persons character over. If un checked or dealt with, it also affects that persons health. Anger is simply not healthy fruit.

 

Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy? Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools. He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated. It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
